Consumer information.....

Its that time of year when everyone starts thinking about what to give for Christmas gifts.  I came across this website that has a list of lead & phthalate free non-toxic toys.  I am very impressed by the work that was done to collect this information.  We are not perfect when it comes to staying clear of lead & phthalate free toys, but make efforts where we can.  I am so happy the the act banning lead from children's toys in the US will take place next year. Its hard enough being a parent, let alone having to research every single toys that comes their way!

Also, if you have any Carter's brand children's clothing from the fall of 2007 line, you are able to get a refund.  The CPSC has released information stating that there have been complaints of rashes due to the tagless tags.  I wrote to Carters and expressed my disappointment in their product and they sent me a postage paid envelope to return any clothing to them and we will receive back full retail value.  They also included a teddy bear for Sydney.  I will be sending her clothes to Carters back soon, but am questioning if I want to send back the one and only newborn piece of clothing I purchased or keep it for memories sake.
