Protecting our kids

I read online this morning that the House passed the legislation that bans lead and phthalates from toys and children's products.  This bill also includes more money for the Consumer Product Safety Commission, as well as the ability to penalize companies that violate this law.  Also included in this bill is third party testing of kids products.  

The Senate is expected to pass the bill.  It will be interesting to see how the President votes, as according to major news sources he's not fond of the bill.  Exxon-Mobil has been lobbying against the bill.

After all of the products that have been recalled in the past year, its time something was done.  Lets forget about money and politics and do what's right for our kids.
