Random things

I have been meaning to post for awhile now, but seem to have problems uploading pictures from my camera.  Its been another busy one at our household.  Last Saturday, we all went to Ellie's birthday party.  We had a great time and can't believe she's already one.  Pretty soon Sydney will be turning the big o-n-e, too!  Saturday evening, we went to Bowling for Apes, a charity event in which money goes to helping the conservation efforts for Great Apes in Africa.  I am proud to say I kicked Jon's tail during one of the bowling games (nevermind that he won the other two!!)  Sydney enjoyed watching all of the action.

Jon & I went and saw Dark Knight, on IMAX, this past Monday.  I generally don't care for any movie with shooting/violence, but this was very good.  Heath Ledger did an awesome job as The Joker.  His acting talents will be greatly missed.  This was the second movie Jon & I have seen in the theatre since Sydney has been born (the other movie being Juno.)  Its amazing how time flies.

Yesterday was Jon's birthday and he actually got home at a reasonable hour from work (yay!)  We hung around the house and ate my homemade vanilla-bean cheesecake with fresh cherries. Yummy!  How Jon is trusting me to be home today with 2/3 of a cheesecake is beyond me.  I'll try to be on my best behavior, though! 

I'm enjoying listening to the rain along with Ray Charles' "Genius Loves Company" while Sydney is soundly napping.  Life is good.
