Today was Sydney's nine month check-up at the Drs. I thought her appointment was for yesterday and I am so glad that it wasn't. Yesterda,y I went to my car around 10:30 AM for her 11 AM appointment and realized that her carseat & stroller were in Jon's car!! After having a fit, I remembered that we had a jogging stroller and that I could walk her to her appointment. (Her Dr. is downtown.) I went back to the apartment, got her stroller, and off we went, only to be stopped by construction and fencing blocking the sidewalk d/t the 80/35 festival. Ugh. I was going to have to walk an extra 4+ blocks to get to her appointment. I called her doctor's office to tell them we were going to be late, only to find out her appointment was for today!!! I am so glad I called before I got too far. It was so sticky outside that we cooled off at the coffee shop, where I had an iced decaf mayan mocha & Sydney munched on Cheerios & water.
Her appointment today went great. They always give Sydney a new book when she comes in, and the lady that weighed her gave "Miss Pretty" two books, one is to give to her boyfriend!! The lady that weighs her is always hoot. Sydney is weighing 16 lbs 2 oz (which is in the 10%), head size of 17 3/4 inches (75%) and her length is 26 3/4 (25%). Dr. Pete thinks Sydney is over 27 inches and is around the 40%, that she was measured wrong. He jokingly stated that the lady that weighs/measures Sydney "wants others to be short." The lady is maybe 4' 10."
Sydney scored 100% on reaching all of her milestones and Dr. Pete is impressed that Sydney is saying Mama, Dada, cat, kitty, & up. He's also impressed how comfortable she is around strangers and states that she must feel very secure.
