Friday night was a very long & tiring night. We all went to sleep around 11 p.m. and Sydney decided to wake up every 30 minutes. I thought at first it was due to the loop-scoping noise of urban living (yay for the up-coming police patrol for loop scoopers!) As it turns out, she had a bit of a temperature.
Sydney woke up at her normal time on Saturday and was happy as could be. She still had a little temperature, but I chalked it up to teething. We decided to go ahead with our original plans and walk to the farmer's market. We got there just in time when all of the Dam-to-Dam participants were getting back from their race. Talk about a jam packed market! We ran into at least 7 people we knew. Jon had a taco, I had a bean & cheese puspas, & Sydney had a nap. On the way back home, we hung out in the "wading" stream by the Papajohn center after seeing our neighbor lounging in the water. Sydney is becoming quite the fish. I think I am going to purchase a family swimming pass this season.
My favorite part of the weekend was getting home & Jon taking care of Sydney while I took a TWO hour nap!! (yay, naps!) Jon got extra brownie points by running to our favorite frozen custard place & picking me up a strawberry-banana sundae, which was delivered to me just as I was waking up. Jon got his turn of fun time by riding his bike for 19.6 miles. We ended Saturday with Sydney going to sleep & Jon & I watching Kitchen Nightmares on Hulu.
Sunday wasn't as fun. Sydney woke up at 4:30 a.m. to nurse and was burning up. Her temperature was 104 degrees! I immediately gave her tylenol, woke up Jon, & called the Drs. office. They had Jon run to the store & pick up Motrin and I kept a close watch on Sydney. At 7 a.m. we had her temperature down to 102 and we went back to sleep. Sydney went to the Drs. at 12:30 where the poor thing had to have a catheter put in to draw urine as well as blood drawn. Shortly after 3 her lab work came in and the Dr. believes she has a bladder infection. They won't know for sure for 2-3 days, once the samples have had time to be cultured. She is on antibiotics now and her temp. appears to be more in the normal range. Sydney is a little more clingy to Mommy, but otherwise, you wouldn't even know she is sick by looking at her.
To top it off, a bottom tooth is cutting through her gums. She's quite the little trooper. It's past time for me to go to sleep, but I'm all wound up after the day we've had. I'm hoping for a nice quiet day tomorrow!

Looks like you and Jon are tacking it all with a smile and a light heart. Your mama is proud.
I sure don't miss those late night fevers, dr. calls and weekend visits to the drs. I sure am glad Sydney is feeling better. Wonder where she gets her "toughness"?
Good talking with you and finding out the little girl is doing much better. Fun to hear her chatter in the background. You two are a great parent team. I am also proud.
